![]() ShabbatBeth David's schedule of Erev Shabbat services is designed to meet the diverse needs of our community. All members and families of all ages are welcome at all services. Family ServicesFirst and Second Fridays of the Month, 6:30PM, September through June The first and second Friday of each month, services are held earlier and are shorter, about an hour long, to offer younger families some time and space to grow spiritually. Grade level services are held the first Friday evening of each month, when children have the opportunity to participate in services with their classmates after practicing with their teachers. This allows our children to feel that the bima is a place where they, as members of the Jewish community, also belong. Family services, like all services, are followed by an oneg (reception with refreshments). Adult ServicesThird and Fourth Fridays of the Month, 8:00PM During the later half of the month we look to set a different mood with a traditional Shabbat service with sermon and the music we all love. A special Healing Service gives us the time and space to help us heal and find the sacred even in pain and illness. Additional special themed services are offered throughout the year. Fifth Friday of the Month -SYNAPLEX™"Like a multi-screen theater, SYNAPLEX™ offers a variety of Shabbat experiences for our diverse Jewish community." (SYNAPLEX™) Come join us for a Shabbat that dares to try different ways of connecting to Judaism and personal worship. Summer Services – 6:30PM During the months of July and August, Erev Shabbat summer services are every Friday evening in the Atrium at 6:30PM. This service is more informal, and children are always welcome to attend. Shabbat Morning ServicesShabbat morning services are held on Saturday mornings at 10:30AM in our sanctuary whenever a Bar or Bat Mitzvah service is scheduled. All members of the Beth David community are welcome and encouraged to attend. Torah StudyTorah study sessions are held every Saturday morning at 9:30AM from the September through June. These study sessions are conducted by Rabbi Egolf, but are often lay led as well. Alternative MinyanOnce monthly, from September through June, Rabbinic Intern Joysa Winter conducts an alternative Shabbat Service at 10:45AM. This is often an interpretive service using our siddur, Mishkan T'Fillah, and music by accompanist Jane Horwitz or Ed Hoffman. |
