YOU’RE INVITED TO THE KICKOFF – JULY 15, 7:00pm

As you may know, the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism has launched a nationwide, nonpartisan civic engagement campaign to encourage all U.S. citizens to exercise their right to vote and to break down obstacles that shut some out of the voting booth. The campaign is called Every Voice. Every Vote. It has three areas of focus:

Mobilizing our voters: With outreach in our congregations and communities, our goal is 100 percent voter participation in the 2020 election.

Combating voter suppression: We’re working in a coalition to achieve universal voter access and encourage universal participation in the fall election.

Engaging student voters: We’re working with youth leaders to significantly increase the number of young people exercising their right to vote this fall.

Beth David is enthusiastically supporting this effort at every level: clergy, lay leaders, adult congregants, and young congregants. Already, dozens of Beth David members have signed up to participate, received training, and started to volunteer.

The Religious Action Center also has locally-led centers in seven U.S. states. Pennsylvania, with 40 Reform Congregations and 40,000+ members, is poised to become the 8th this month. For its first initiative, RAC-PA, as it will be called, is bringing together the Reform Jewish congregations and communities of Pennsylvania to carry out a powerful, nonpartisan campaign to thwart voter suppression efforts specific to Pennsylvania. Beth David has fully embraced RAC-PA and is taking a lead role organizing it. Congregants can volunteer for both the national “Every Voice. Every Vote.” campaign and the state campaign; they are intertwined.

The Kickoff of the RAC-PA Civic Engagement Campaign will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, July 15, at 7:00  p.m. You’re invited to participate to learn more about RAC-PA’s campaign strategy and how you can get involved. It’s simple to register for the event; go to rac.org/PAKickoff. Hope to see you there!
