Without YOU we are one woman short!

Founded in 1913 as an affiliate of the Union for Reform Judaism, WRJ strengthens the voice of women worldwide and empowers them to create caring communities, nurture congregations, cultivate personal and spiritual growth, and advocate for and promote progressive Jewish values. To fulfill this vision, WRJ engages tens of thousands of women through a global network of hundreds of sisterhoods and women’s groups. Stronger together, we ensure that these women make a difference in the world.

The Beth David WRJ/Sisterhood is a member of this international organization who now represents more than 65,000 women in nearly 500 women’s groups in North America and around the world.   The organization’s mission is to guarantee the future of Reform Judaism by educating and training sisterhood and congregational leadership.

Because Jewish life is lived in both the synagogue and the home, we carry Judaica and secular gifts not only for the holidays but also for the milestones of our lives. You’ll be amazed at what we offer! GIFTED is a volunteer project of Beth David’s Sisterhood/Women of Reform Judaism. Open on Sundays when Religious School is in session or by appointment. Please contact our office, 610-896-7485.

SHOP FOR PASSOVER 2021/5781

Beth David Sisterhood is once again pleased to make items from the gift shop available for purchase as we approach the holiday of Passover.  Spend a lot, or a little, what you take home (or share with far-away family) will add to your holiday observance just like the scent of matzo ball soup cooking on the stovetop! Our prices are competitive and Sisterhood members get a discount on many items.

Below you’ll find a small selection of Passover objects for sale.  To purchase, or simply to peruse, contact BD Sisterhood member Sheila Rachlin at sheila.rachlin@gmail.com. to set up a physically-distant, masked, not-at-all–like-the-old-days but still pleasant shopping outing!  Payment is by cash or check.

  • We have a few Miriam and Kiddish Cups, including in pewter, by Emily Rosenfeld.
  • Featuring these hand-made collectible seder plates among others available:

Handworked Metal
by Blackthorne Forge
$220.00

Mixed Metals, Fused Glass
Gary Rosenthal

And so much more.  Bags of plagues (in case living through one isn’t enough for you).  A cup for Elijah — he prefers it to your one-off juice glass.  A truly beautiful timbrel by Emanuel.   Several handsome matzo display pieces, and covers, so your matzo can fulfill its ancient wish to be one of those tempting foods we eat at Passover.  Of course, haggadot.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to Sheila Rachlin at sheila.rachlin@gmail.com with questions, or to simply purchase it all! All gifted sales support Sisterhood programs and Beth David.
