What is Sisterhood?

Beth David WRJ Sisterhood connects the women of our congregation and other sisterhood members to each other.

We believe that a woman’s affiliation with a temple should provide more than a place for worship and children’s schooling. We believe that affiliation should also provide a place for a woman and her family to feel personally connected to other members of our congregations.

We come together in friendship and support to maintain Beth David’s sense of warmth and community.

We carry out activities that benefit the entire congregation, not just Sisterhood.

We promote social activities, study, and the growth of the individual.

We promote “sharing and caring” among out members for a personal situation or crisis.

We are part of Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ). We participate in area, district, and international events and provide opportunities for leadership development.

Social and informational programs are offered throughout the year. We have three book clubs (one day, two evenings) that meet monthly.

Yoga meets one Sunday a month live at BD and simultaneously for those at home.

Reinventing During the Pandemic

Despite the many challenges this past year, we provided a full and noteworthy year of programs. We sent out Sisterhood communications to our mailing list to keep our members informed of the latest activities and informed of the latest activities and invitations. We look forward to IN-PERSON events as soon as it is safely possible. There are paid member-only programs and we also sponsor free-to-all events.

Gifted at Beth David

Because Jewish life is lived in both the synagogue and the home, we carry Judaica and secular gifts not only for the holidays but also for the milestones of our lives. You’ll be amazed at what we offer! GIFTED is a volunteer project of Beth David’s Sisterhood/Women of Reform Judaism. Open by appointment only. Please contact our office, 610-896-7485.
