We are in need of overnight hosts to support our next Family Promise (Formerly IHN) Hosting the Week of December 15th.
Being an overnight host is very easy. If you like sleeping, you can do it!
Please consider volunteering for our upcoming hosting — from the evening of Sunday, December 15th to the morning of Sunday, December 22nd. New volunteers are welcome and appreciated!
Each hosting week requires numerous volunteers to host the two or three homeless families at Beth David. During the week, our guests arrive at Beth David each evening and depart the following morning. The key volunteer roles are:
- setting up the private bedrooms
• providing dinner and eating with the guests each night
• sleeping over at Beth David in a private room
• shopping for groceries for breakfast and lunches
• laundering sheets and towels at the end of the week
• breaking down the private bedrooms
• donating miscellaneous supplies from time to time
Beth David families have found this to be a meaningful and fun family activity. You can do this mitzvah at Beth David, the grocery store, or in your own home laundry room. Many B’Nai Mitzvah students have supported Family Promise for their service projects.
It’s easy to volunteer or learn more. Just Click Here to Volunteer and see what roles are in need of volunteers. For more information on Family Promise, go to the Beth David web page, https://bdavid.org/make-a-difference/ihn/.
