Without our traditions, our lives would be as shaky as a fiddler on the roof!
2024 marks the 60th anniversary of Fiddler on the Roof. Somewhere right now a rural high-school or city theater is presenting Fiddler. Somewhere right now Tevye is delighting audiences while contending with his unruly daughters.
Join noted guest lecturer, Karl Middleman, as he shares the stories and music of the original Fiddlers — Sholem Aleichem, Marc Chagall, Jerome Robbins and Zero Mostel. Learn how they coped with upheaval and otherness for more than a century.
With large dollops of memorable music, dance and art mixed with behind-the-scenes capers, Karl Middleman provides a fresh take on the quirks and raptures of a beloved American musical.
