Wednesday, September 30, 4:45-5:45 PM

  • Churches and synagogues throughout Lower Merion are currently displaying Black Lives Matter banners, and the interfaith community is gathering weekly for a vigil to demonstrate our support for racial justice.
  • Beth David is co-hosting this week’s vigil along with Congregation Beth Am Israel, Gladwyne Presbyterian Church, and St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church.
  • We will gather in the parking lot of the former Acme Market in Gladwyne, where we are permitted to park. After a gathering prayer in the parking lot, we will hold our vigil at the intersection of Youngs Ford and Conshohocken State Roads.

Please bring handheld signs with peaceful messages advocating for racial justice. Vigils begin and end with prayer. In between, we stand for about 30 minutes along a busy street, holding our signs, bearing public witnesses to our desire for racial justice. Please feel welcome to bring a chair if you need one. Masks must be worn, and friendly social distancing must be maintained throughout the vigil
