Discovering Your Ancestry and Navigating the Blocks Along That Journey

Join us for a discussion about discovering the history of your ancestors, who they were, where they lived, and where they came from. We are privileged to have Joel Spector as our guest speaker. Joel will discuss the process, techniques, and resources available to research your own ancestors and their history. He will also share information about approaches to take when your search gets stuck or reaches a dead end. In addition, Joel will share some wonderful stories he has collected along the way, and he will be available to answer your questions.

Joel is currently on the Board of the Jewish Genealogical and Archival Society of Greater Philadelphia where he has served as President and Chairperson of its Russian Special Interest Group. He is also a former Secretary of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies and has been involved in planning programs for several of their Conferences. He has  presented on Russian and Ukrainian topics at those Conferences
