Our next Koffee Kallah will explore the origins, purposes, benefits, delights, and downright hilarity of Jewish Humor. Did you know that even Sarah, our matriarch, laughed when she was told she would bear a son in her later years? Jewish humor has always been a part of out culture and was used as a means of survival and resilience during times of suffering and difficult challenges. Who better to laugh at ourselves than Jews themselves.
We are fortunate and honored to have our own Jill Cooper as our guest speaker for this program. She has taught Jewish Humor to former students and is well versed in the nuances and complexities of the subject. She is a wonderful speaker and presenter, as we all know. Members of the Adult Ed Committee will share some vignettes and ideas about their favorite Jewish comedians. And we will finish with an open discussion on why Jews are so funny.
Donation of $8.00 is asked to cover the food costs. You are also strongly encouraged to bring your favorite Jewish joke to share with the group.
