10 years ago, Rabbi Chuck Kroloff, a beloved mentor of Rabbi Kalisch, came to Beth David to help us celebrate her installation as our new rabbi. This year, on May 11th, the morning after we celebrate Rabbi Kalisch’s ten years with our congregation, we continue the celebration by welcoming Rabbi Kroloff back (virtually!) in conversation with Rabbi Kalisch. Rabbi Kroloff will read brief selections from his latest book, Open Up Our Eyes, and invite all of us to uncover experiences from our past and let them inspire us. His own amazing moments include: dancing ‘till one a.m. at the White House, swimming in the Yale pool, being sent to the back of a segregated bus, saying “No” to the Vice President of the United States; counseling a groom who has gotten cold feet and run into the woods.
