As part of Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month, Dr. Salzer will speak to the congregation about “Creating a Place of Belonging for Individuals with Mental Health Issues.” He will offer suggestions for how we, both as individuals and as a congregation, can be more inclusive of this segment of our community that is often overlooked.
Mark Salzer, Ph.D. is a psychologist and Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the College of Public Health at Temple University. He also directs the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion of Individuals with Psychiatric Disabilities, a rehabilitation research and training center funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research since 2003. Dr. Salzer previously worked in the Schools of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and Vanderbilt University and is internationally-recognized as an expert in the inclusion of adults with serious mental illnesses
