Sunday 10/16 – 6:00-7:30pm – Simchat Torah Celebration – Dress your Decade! 100 Years of Bat Mitzvah And they People Who Love Them

This year, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the first bat mitzvah. In honor of this milestone, we’re honoring everyone in our community who has ever celebrated becoming a bat mitzvah…and the people that love them! Come dressed for the occasion in whatever decade you or your loved one turned 13 and/or became a bat mitzvah.
So…PARENTS AND KIDS GET DRESSED UP!!! Dance and march to music from across the decades plus all the usual Simchat Torah fun including unscrolling the ENTIRE Torah and munching on foods that are rolled like a scroll…
all catered by our friend Shavit!

Monday 10/17 – 9:00-10:00 – Simchat Torah Zoom Yizkor Service – (Zoom only) Simchat Torah is about the sacred stories of our lives, how we tell them, and how we begin again when they end. We’ll reflect on these themes with 30 minutes of song, prayer and poetry, and 30 minutes of Yizkor (memorial) prayers and reflection. If you have lost a loved one this past year, or if you are remembering a loved one who died in a past year, Yizkor is a space for us to be together with love, grief, and memory, but you are welcome to join even if you have not lost a loved one recently.  Check your email for Zoom link.
